Will Cosnett
Director of Educational Ministries
In 2008, Will Cosnett joined First Presbyterian Church as our Director of Educational Ministries. He directs all youth fellowship activities and works with the church’s Christian Education Committee to develop class curriculum for the youth Sunday School and topics for adult classes. And you’ll often see him at Sunday services, inviting young ones up for the “A Time with Children” portion of the worship service, where he and the children explore a topic or story related to that week’s sermon.
Will grew up in Upstate New York, then lived in central New Jersey before moving to Scranton. He holds a B.S. degree in Elementary Education (with a concentration in mathematics) from the State University of New York College at Oneonta. After graduation, he did substitute teaching in the Vestal, New York, school district and was a coordinator of academic computing for Elmira College. He then headed to Princeton Theological Seminary where he earned first a Masters of Divinity, then a Masters of Arts in Christian Education. Between his two masters degrees, he served as director of youth and family ministries for First Presbyterian Church in Dayton, New Jersey. He has also spent 12 summers in camping ministry, serving in a variety of positions, including camp director and camp chaplain.
At First Presbyterian, he keeps our youth groups active and involved with everything from summer mission trips and fundraisers to group outings and events such as the ever-popular Tournament of Champions. His love for travel and games of all kinds serve him well in these activities!
