What We Believe

At First Presbyterian Church, worship lies at the heart of everything we do.

As God’s people in First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit, we enter the next century with faithfulness and hope. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we intend to respond to Christ’s call.

We intend to worship the Triune God by proclaiming God’s Word, offering our gifts, prayers and music and celebrating the sacraments.

We intend to equip God’s people for ministry in the world by deepening our spiritual commitments, studying the Scriptures and living out God’s purposes in our everyday lives.

We intend to serve God by identifying needs in our world and congregation and responding to those needs in ways that are faithful to the Gospel.

To these ends,we commit our time, talents, resources and love.

If the weekly worship services lie at the heart of our congregation’s life, then the weekly sermons of our ministers lie at the heart of our worship services.
